What is Rx compounding?
Pharmacists have done compounding since the profession was started. It is the process in which the pharmacist uses pure chemicals to make medications specifically for your unique needs.
Why would I want/need to have my prescription compound?
If you need a specific medication, dosages form, or strength that is not commercially available then a compounded medication may solve that problem.
Why can't my regular pharmacy compound my prescription?
Although compounding has been in our practice for many years, it does take state-of-the-art equipment, chemicals and advanced techniques to ensure quality products. Other pharmacies do not have the time, equipment, chemicals or training to "custom-make" your prescription.
